My first blog post in the library, woot!

It’s the blogs’ 2nd birthday .. it’s been through a lot don’t you think? Interviews, rants, chronicles .. highschool, senior year and now uni .. it sure has! 😀

Thanks to all the readers that keep this blog alive, and yes I do apologize for neglecting the blog, I admit it! But uni life is time-consuming, nothing to worry about though .. finals next week and I’ll get back on track hopefully. 🙂

Thanks again .. and keep your comments coming. 😉

Awareness: Water. Clean water.
March 18, 2011

The economics professor showed this video in class today, it’s an old campaign but protrays the message clearly!

Everyday 1.1 billion people have to wash with, bathe in and drink dirty water.

That’s the same as the population of North America and Europe.

We can’t live with that fact.

Can you?

It’s not a marriage proposal!
March 2, 2011

Just a warning, this will be filled with profanity, so excuse my Swahili and read on!

Twitter.

You follow people, read what they have to say, sometimes, SOMETIMES reply to them, and continue living your life.

IN NO FUCKING PLACE ARE WE ASKED TO SIGN A MARRIAGE CONTRACT IF WE FOLLOW EACH OTHER!

“Wenik? Shga3d tsawi? Lesh matrid 3alay? Aroo7? Ared? Shfeek 6awalt?”

LAA? Do you want to know my class schedule and my sleeping habits?? For Pete’s sake I DONT KNOW YOU!!

I can be nice for a limited period of time, but then the F in fuck starts flying around my lil mind and I blurt it out involuntarily.

I ended up blocking her ass. Fucking hell.

End of the Swahili tutorial. I have a calculus exam in 2 days. Bye.

Howdy! 🙂

How’s life and stuff going on? Hope all is well!

Life at Kansas is okay I guess .. living it day in day out!

Wake up .. have your breakfast (I avoid cereal, their fibre is REAL fibre and if you do biology you know what fibre does to you .. hint: they dont have water hoses in the lavatories here .. ok I think I’ll stop being disgusting).

mine has pics of the power rangers :3

I then head to class, walking .. I love this part of the day! Headphones on .. walk in the freezing weather .. yes I’d rather walk around with my blanket wrapped around me .. but I fear my social status might fall in campus .. Kuwaitis here do loads of gossping. 😛

Study wise I’m doing fine .. just dont mention Calculus .. that subject must be provided as an option to replace a death sentence .. I’d pick the electric chair though!! “Mate we’re killing you .. how you wanna do it? Calculus for the rest of your life, hanging, an injection?”  “I WILL VOLUNTARILY ENTER AN ELEPHANTS BOWELS .. ANYTHING BUT CALCULUS!” <- poor guy.

Oh, and if you follow me on twitter; you’d have discovered I’m an amatuer cook now .. gimme a couple of years and I’ll have my own ramadan show .. oh and god bless frozen food .. and microwaves .. and th iPhones camera that turns the pictures into something that looks eidble. Yes, I say looks. Taste wise? *gazes at the garbage can* .. OH WELL.

Alright that’s enough laughing for the day .. enjoy Thursday and the WEEKEND!! *Oprah Winfrey shout*

OHHH! AND I LOVE THE NBK AD! LOVE AS IN WATCH IT 4 TIMES IN A ROW LOVE. kbye.

Is this stopping?

Review: Exit Through the Gift Shop
February 1, 2011

I just hate when I don’t understand weather a movie is a hoax, but in this case it did not matter. It is purely genius, straight forward and sarcastic just on the right places. Like a 90 minute Banksy graffiti. One of the few movies you expect a lot from and that is exactly what you get. Shows the logical point of view about modern art and at the same time it is presented by a great artist.

There is everything you expect from a movie: storyline, excitement, action and most importantly if you care about art in a genuine way you somehow relate to it. The things that make modern movies annoying are missing and it is pure pleasure from the beginning to the end. The whole story is very shocking and weather reality or just a Banksy it is a pure masterpiece.

To talk about the movie is very hard though, it is like Angelina Jolie says “talking about love is like dancing on architecture”, well talking about Exit Through the Gift Shop is like, well just pointless.  So watch it!

Education: public or private?
January 30, 2011

I asked the question above on twitter, and got many answers back. But surprisingly, all of them chose private schools.

Why did they choose private over public schools?

Qualifications of teachers, being taught in english, the curriculum and the fact they help in building the child’s personality. Strong points.

I’d like to share @theysayimcrazy’s point of view:

Knowing the current standards of education offered at public schools, it would be pretty pointless to have your kids attend them. The teachers are generally either careless or incompetent. Not all but some students generated a horrible reputation for the public schools as being insufficient or chaotic in a way. Private schools sure are more “business” based, but the courses offered, the type of teachers hired, and the general education and curriculum being taught is so much more requisite. The government provides all the necessities sure, but for an environment for my kids to be in? I’d definitely go for private schools. Having your kid in a private school is an investment; it pays off in the end.

@m7med_AlFadhli also added:

I prefer sending my child to a private school because I think he would get a better education. Another thing is that I’ve noticed that the way guys in a private schools think is much better than the public school guys.

I asked a couple of people about their thoughts about the behaviour of the students from either private schools or public schools? Do they differ? Does it matter?

According to @RecentStudies: Well, the rich kids think they’re better because they go to private schools, while 7ukooma kids sometimes feel marginalized.

@QueenZee88 on the other hand said: that depends on the parents, if they raised him to behave well it doesn’t matter where he is.

I agree more with @QueenZee88 .. In my opinion there are 3 main sources of education: home, school, and friends. The education you get at home determines your behavior outside your home, the education you get from school determines your academic capabilities and the education you get from friends determines your personality.

@Dakine_legal who attended public and private schools in Cyprus, Australia, the USA and the UK also chose the private school option, I’ll share his thoughts:

I think if it’s a private school, the teachers are more accountable for their teachings and you get a better level of teaching. Also, there are more options for you and things for you to do in & out of school.

@bunnyhungry on the other hand had a very interesting answer 😛

That’s that .. so what do YOU guys think? Do you share the same views? Do you differ on some? Share your thoughts!!

Also, I’m thinking of making this a weekly thing .. we’ll see! 😀
