Looking back

It’s the 30th of April, 4 months have passed, and we’re almost half way through this year. What happened this month?

Well on April 7th,  the Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev fled his country amidst fierce rioting.

Roza Otunbayeva the head of the provisional government in Kyrgyzstan now.

3 days later on April the 10th, the Polish president and his wife, along with 96 others were killed when their plane crashed in western Russia.

On April the 13th, a 6.9 magnitude earthquake hit China, killing 2,000 people.

1 day later, on April the 14th, the volcanic ash from the Iceland eruptions started disrupting air traffic.

On the 28th of April, the UK Prime Minister apologised after being recorded describing an elderly voter as a “bigoted woman”.
